The Poultry Science Club at Auburn University is a club where young adults interested in the poultry industry come together to further their knowledge of the industry. At the Poultry Science Club meetings, speakers from different companies within the industry come out and give a brief presentation about their company and jobs. I joined the club in the fall semester of 2015. Participating in club meeting and events has taught me so many things about the poultry industry that I never knew about. I have also had the privilege to learn about some amazing job opportunities. Through the Poultry Science Club, I was able to attend the International Poultry and Processing Exposition in Atlanta, Georgia. During the expo, I interviewed with several poultry companies, and obtained an internship with Aviagen for the summer of 2017. This year, I will be able to attend the expo with the club again. At the expo, my goal is to obtain another internship in the industry to broaden my horizons.
